- Acceptance letter from a DLI.
- Proof of sufficient funds (bank statements, scholarship details, or financial support letters).
- Passport-sized photographs (as per specifications).
- Statement of purpose (SOP).
- Immigration Medical Examination (IME), if required.
4. Apply Online or On Paper
- Create an account on the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website.
- Complete the online application and upload scanned copies of required documents.
- If applying on paper, submit documents at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC).
5. Pay the Application Fee
- The standard student visa application fee is CAD 150.
- Biometrics fee (if required) is CAD 85.
- Payment can be made online via credit card.
6. Provide Biometrics (If Required)
- Schedule an appointment at a Visa Application Centre (VAC).
- Provide fingerprints and photographs as part of the process.
7. Attend an Interview (If Requested)
- Some applicants may be required to attend an interview at their local consulate or embassy.
8. Wait for Processing and Decision
- Processing times vary by country.
- Track the status of your application on the IRCC website.
9. Receive Your Port of Entry (POE) Letter
- If approved, you will receive a POE Letter of Introduction.
- A temporary resident visa (TRV) or electronic travel authorization (eTA) may also be issued.
10. Travel to Canada and Obtain Your Study Permit
- Present your POE Letter at the Canadian border.
- Immigration officers will issue your study permit upon arrival.
