Submitting a complete Express Entry profile is the first step toward immigrating to Canada as a skilled worker. A well-prepared profile increases your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. Follow these steps to ensure your profile is complete and meets all requirements.
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Before creating your profile, ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for one of the three Express Entry programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Use the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Calculator to estimate your CRS score and determine your competitiveness.
Step 2: Gather Required Documents
To complete your Express Entry profile, prepare the following documents:
✅ Passport or Travel Document – Must be valid.
✅ Language Test Results – IELTS, CELPIP (English) or TEF, TCF (French).
✅ Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) – Required if you studied outside Canada.
✅ Work Experience Details – Job titles, duties, and employer details.
✅ National Occupational Classification (NOC) Code – Determine the correct NOC for your job.
✅ Proof of Settlement Funds – If required for your program.
✅ Provincial Nomination (if applicable) – If you received a nomination from a province.
✅ Job Offer (if applicable) – Must be a valid offer from a Canadian employer.

Make sure all information matches your official documents to avoid profile rejection.
Step 5: Submit Your Profile & Get a CRS Score
Once your profile is complete:
✅ Review all details for accuracy.
✅ Submit your profile and receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
✅ Your profile will be added to the Express Entry pool.
Step 6: Wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
- Express Entry draws happen every two weeks.
