- Permanent residence applicant under an inland sponsorship program.
3. Gather Required Documents
Applicants must prepare:
- A valid passport.
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, joint bank statements, lease agreements, etc.).

- Proof of spouse’s employment (e.g., job letter, pay stubs, employer letter).

- Pay the processing fee ($255 CAD as of 2024).
- Paper Application:
- Download and fill out the required forms.
- Mail the application package to the appropriate IRCC processing center.
5. Wait for Processing
Processing times vary but generally take several months. Applicants can check their application status online using the IRCC portal.
6. Receive the Work Permit
Once approved, the applicant will receive an open work permit, allowing them to work for any employer in Canada without restrictions.
